AutoAlign is in France this week for the Canada–France defence and aeronautics trade mission, running November 24 to 28 and co-organised by Centech and the National Research Council of Canada with the Embassy of Canada in France. Dan Adamson, Henry Long, and Mike Knobben are representing the team.
Ten Canadian startups are meeting France’s major defence groups and institutions over the week, on subjects where the two countries’ industrial bases genuinely complement each other: drones, autonomy, and electrification. The goal is straightforward: deepen Canada–France cooperation on advanced technologies alongside partners including Airbus, the Trade Commissioner Service, the Department of National Defence, GICAT, and CADSI.
The first days have brought demos, good conversations, and real discussion of the challenges the industry is facing: workforce shortages, training gaps, knowledge transfer, and modernisation. Those are the problems Visor was built for, and the reason defence is one of the industries we serve. Excited for the days ahead.
